For the 3rd year the Vie d'Eau Paris Backgammon Club organizes the Paris Tournament of the Hector Saxe Backgammon Tour on the 7th - 8 th July 218 at the Mercure hotel "Le Relays du Chateau" in Rambouillet (35 minutes train from Paris-Montparnasse station).
The 4 star-hotel is located at the foot of the Chateau de Rambouillet. Build as a fortress in the 14th century, it was later turned into a royal residence and was considered to host the President de la République instead of the Elysée Palace.
Come experience the royal experience and have a great week end of backgammon.
L'hôtel offers "Backgammon" rates if you specify that you come for the tourney.

How to get there ? en voiture / en train
We will have a spacious conference room inside the hotel but feel free to enjoy the terrasse with a view on the castle.
The tournament's format will consist of 5 rounds swiss-format on Day 1, the field is then divided in two separate standings, the 1st half of the ranking list will got to the Gold Standings (single-elimination) and compete for the title. The other half will compete in the Silver standings with also numerous prizes.
A Bronze Standings (consolation) will be opened for players out from Gold and Silver.
The winner of the Gold standing will win, among other prizes, the custom hand-made competition board by our partner Hector Saxe. There will be numerous prizes for hte best ranked players of the tournament both in Gold and Silver.
Our new partner Get Service supports the event by offering bottles of champagne to the 14 best ranked players of the tournament.
